Rusty Snow is a local coach of the Santa Barbara Running and Racing team with Mike Swan, owner of Elite Rehab. He is an outstanding athlete, qualifying for the Marathon Olympic Trials in 2000, and winning his age group category at the marathon Nationals, 2005. He is also a two time World Elliptigo Champion in 2012 and 2013. He served on the board of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association from 2005 to 2013.
June Snow, wife of Rusty, is at home with their boys, Miles and Blaise. She was a 10 time All-American Athlete, while in College, and continued to compete at a high level from 1992-2000. From 2003-2005 she was an assistant track and field coach at Santa Barbara City College.
Technical Delegate/Chief of Course
Dan Campbell is Chief of Course and Technical Delegate. He has coached numerous Maine State and National champions in skiing, track and field and cross country, as well as Olympic caliber athletes. He also started the first triathlon series in New England, and has produced 65 races in 25 years.
Santa Barbara Course Manager
Wally Marantette is one of the course managers. A longtime and highly respected member of the SBAA (currently serving on the board), he handles the production of numerous local sporting events, from set-up to course-marking to timing and breakdown, all in a fast, clean and professional manner.
Santa Barbara County Course Manager
Joe MacPhee is originally from Boston and has lived in Santa Barbara for eight years. He is an active member of Santa Barbara Running & Racing and has completed five marathons, including the inaugural SBIM. When not running, Joe is a self-employed CPA in Santa Barbara specializing in fraud investigations and forensic accounting.
Goleta Course Manager
Bill Rupp is from New Jersey but has lived in Santa Barbara County for over 25 years. He has run one marathon (California International in Sacramento) but nowadays runs 5K's and 10K's. Bill lives near mile 2 on the course and his typical Saturday morning run.
Elda Rudd is marketing director. Elda Rudd is an active member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association and Santa Barbara Triathlon Club, both of which help her keep up with training for running and triathlons.
Tamara Berndt is website development director. She moved to Santa Barbara in 1996 to work at the corporate headquarters for Yardi Systems where she serves as the product manager to develop software for the residential marketplace. She currently runs with Santa Barbara Running & Racing coached by Mike Swan and Rusty Snow and is a member of the Santa Barbara Athletic Association.
Anita Ho, Volunteer Coordinating Superstar will be the head coordinator of all volunteer coordinators. She coordinates volunteers for many of Santa Barbara’s Events, including the Solstice Parade, SB Half Marathon, and SB Triathlon.
Medical Volunteer Coordinator
Dawna Ashton is the Medical Coordinator. She is the director of the Santa Barbara County Medical Reserve Corp. She will coordinate CPR and First Aid Certified staff for water and Aid Stations.
